Scottish Play Progress:

October 20, 2006

My group is currently acting out The Scottish Play, Act III scene’s III-V.  I play Lady Macbeth, and I got a lot of lines to learn :Þ.  Currently we have assigned everyone at least a part and we all get to speak at some point.  With that out of the way, we all voted on what job we were to do.  I was given the job of set design writer, and so far I haven’t started but will vey soon.  Our progress could be fairing better but we’re off to a relatively good start.  The memorizing will be the hardest along with coordinating the costumes, but we can do it.

V for Vendetta!

October 20, 2006

I want to read the book “V” for Vendetta for my outside reading book.  Already having seen the movie I look forward to reading it. From what I understand from the movie is that it takes place in the not so distant future of England, and a powerful dictator is slowly taking over! The freedom fighter, known only as “V” sets himself between the dictator and his efforts in trying to take over the rest of the world after already ruling England.  In his actions he’s becoming the next Hitler, and he will try to rule no matter the cost.  Natalie Portman, playing Evey Hammond gets caught in the middle of V’s plans when he saves her from being raped and or mugged by some ill intentioned thugs.  From then on they become somewhat friends as V explains to her exactly what is going to happen to England if he doesn’t do something to stop Chancellor Adam Sutler.  The future, as he further describes would be bleak unless he continues his life long work of inspiring the common people to band together by wearing the mask and robe as he does to hide his identity and to overthrow such evil.
